EDUvia4X® was created in response to that question.
It is an educational framework developed in the Czech Republic that connects critical thinking, self-reflection, mentoring, ethical use of artificial intelligence, meaningful assessment, and purposeful learning design into one coherent concept.
EDUvia4X is not just a teaching method.

What does the name EDUvia4X mean?
The name EDUvia4X combines the idea of education with the Latin word via, meaning path or way.
This reflects one of the central principles of the concept:
Learning is a path.
It is not a single result, a one-time answer, or a fixed score.
It is a process of growth, correction, insight, and gradual mastery.
The “4X” expresses the concept’s dynamic, multi-dimensional nature — learning that grows beyond traditional boundaries and develops through multiple layers of thought, reflection, guidance, and innovation.
Why EDUvia4X?
Many schools still focus primarily on what students can reproduce under pressure.
But modern education requires much more.
Students need to be able to:

What we are developing now: EDUvia4X Learning Probe
As part of the ongoing development of the concept, a new tool is currently being prepared under the working title:
EDUvia4X Learning Probe
The Learning Probe is a diagnostic educational tool designed to identify the exact point where learning breaks down.
The idea is inspired by diagnostic probes used in science and engineering.
When a technical system fails, a probe can help locate the precise point of disruption.
The EDUvia4X Learning Probe applies a similar principle to education.
Instead of asking only whether an answer is right or wrong, it focuses on a deeper question:
Where exactly did understanding stop?
The goal is to analyse patterns of student mistakes, detect conceptual gaps, and support targeted follow-up learning.
This means that students would not simply receive more random exercises.
They would receive carefully selected tasks designed to strengthen the very concept they have not yet fully understood.
In this way, the Learning Probe aims to transform mistakes into guidance.
Its purpose is not only diagnostic, but developmental.
